    Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at backdoorbackflows@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Backflow is the unwanted reversal of fluid flow in a plumbing system that can pull dirty or contaminated water back into clean drinking water supplies

    .

Upon inspection by your local water purveyors Cross-Connection Inspector, they may have noticed a threat or potential threat to the quality of the municipal water supply. To prevent cross contamination, and protect public health they require a backflow prevention device to be installed and tested annually to stay compliant.

Backsiphonage- If a city water main breaks or firefighters tap heavily into a nearby hydrant, the pressure in the municipal street pipe drops drastically. This creates a vacuum effect that literally sucks water backward out of your private property lines into the water distribution system.

Backpressure- This happens when the water pressure inside a property's system becomes higher than the city's supply pressure. High-pressure systems like commercial booster pumps or boilers can easily overpower the incoming city flow.

    Hear from happy customers!
